Polyurethane coatings offer a stunning and attractive finish to your floors while allowing them to withstand harsh conditions.

The finish on a polyurethane coated floor is hard-wearing and durable. There are options of solvent-based and water-based polyurethane coatings and, depending on the type of property you’re in – whether it be residential, commercial or industrial, we’ll make recommendations based on your requirements.

A choice of flooring finishes

As well as being extremely durable and cost effective, polyurethane coatings can ensure your floors are left looking like new again. High gloss, semi gloss, satin and matt are only some of the finishes available, and today’s technology ensures these won’t yellow with age.

Solvent based polyurethane – extremely hard wearing finish

Solvent-based or moisture cured polyurethane is a commonly used product for timber floors that need a high level of finish and are able to withstand greater levels of foot traffic. The thicker coatings that this type of polyurethane finish can create a look of depth in the timber colour and grain. Solvent based polyurethane gives off a much stronger smell and take longer to dry than water bourne polyurethane.

Water based polyurethane – more environmentally friendly

For a more environmentally friendly floor coating, talk to our flooring specialists about water based polyurethane solutions. This eco-friendly option will give off less fumes during the application, has a clear finish and has different sheen levels available. We also specialise in natural oil flooring finishes – it’s never too late to go natural!
